Thereafter, he would find himself relocating with family relations for several years before finally settling down at St. Joseph’s Catholic High School in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Here he would excel at football, basketball, and track. It was also here he would catch the eye of his wife-to-be, Sylvia Marie Finney, to whom he would marry on 17 June 1952.
