William “Bill” Ohlis Plunkett Jr., of Savannah, GA, reached the shores of Heaven on May 12, 2022. Bill was born on September 30, 1942 to the late Roberta Finn Plunkett and William Ohlis Plunkett Sr. His parents were married for 9 years prior to his birth and were overjoyed at the arrival of their first child and only son. Roberta fondly referred to him as her lucky penny.

Born on November 30, 1934, in Blakely, Georgia, she was the only child of Warren Hill and Mary Arminta “Minnie” Owen Chandler. She graduated from Blakely Union High School and received her B.S. In Education from the University of Georgia, where she met her husband of 58 years, Lanier Cain, whom she married in June, 1954. She and her husband spent the majority of their lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where they raised their two children.

Mrs. Kilbourne passed away under palliative care Sunday morning, December 11, 2022. Born July 21, 1928, the third child of immigrants Max and Geraldine Shainin, Harriet grew up in Bayside, New York, the daughter of a union plasterer and union clothing worker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Christopher Lowery. Christine Ann Barth, 78, of Savannah, Georgia, died peacefully under hospice care on Wednesday, May 25th 2022, following a battle with lung cancer. Christine was born on June 29, 1943 in Buffalo, NY to Albert A. She was preceded in death by her parents , her brothers Gerald Stachowiak, James Stachowiak and Robert Stachowiak. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Barth, her youngest daughter, Maria R. O’Connor and her great-granddaughter Magnolia F. Markle.

In 1975, she fled Vietnam with her husband and seven children to an unfamiliar country, not knowing the language, culture, and people. Through her faith and strength, she was a successful business owner while raising her children and servicing her church and community. Meriel Jean Newman Cupstid, 88, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at her home in Savannah. She was born in Bulloch County, GA to the late John Miller Newman and Lera Iler Newman. Mrs. Cupstid was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Temple.

Harold George Hoecherl died on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 surrounded by his family under the care of Savannah Hospice at Buckingham South in Savannah, Georgia. He was born January 26, 1933 in Genesee Depot, Wisconsin to Marie Bauer Elder Hoecherl and Oscar Gould Elder. Harry Hoecherl began his violin studies with Hilda McConnell in Spooner, Wisconsin at age 11. He graduated from Northland College in 1955 with a BA in music education with an emphasis in violin and clarinet.

Giorgio was born on January 12, 1942 in Pola, Italy to his parents, Salvatore and Liliana Magliulo. Giorgio graduated as a naval officer from the Italian Naval Academy where he also earned his doctorate degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture.
